Happy Independence Day! This is the 233 celebration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This timeless document established the foundation for the writing of the constitution which led to the greatest democratic form of government in history.
Included in the Declaration of Independence comes these words; We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The BNP And The European Elections – Some Thoughts

Its getting close to the European elections and if the predictions are to be believed, the British National Party will probably win lots more seats in the European council.
I dont particularly care for getting into massive debate about Europe, Elections or the BNP but here are some paragraphs of thoughts i had anyway.
I choose to believe that a substantial reason for their increasing ‘popularity’ at the polling stations is a protest vote, and not a vindication of the BNPs policies. Should Blacks Be Paid Reparations

During the recent presidential campaign a rumor was started and widely circulated that Barack Obama, if elected, would begin a process to pay reparations to Black descendents of former slaves.
Such rhetoric betrays a serious lack of understanding of how things work at the highest levels of politics. For one, the office of President of the United States is primarily a figure head position. Another thing is that presidents have very little real power. The executive branch of government at the federal level was purposely designed by the writers of the Constitution to be the weakest of the three governing bodies.

Health Care and other Issues

The President wants health care reform, well so do a lot of other people in this country,BUT, will it ever come.
I don’t care how hard he tries, he will never be able to achieve this, why, because this depends on forces bigger than him. This takes me back to 1976, in Oklahoma, I was working for an agency that was implementing section 8 housing.

The Constitutional guaranty of freedom of speech is contained in the First Amendment and is but one of six guarantees spelled out in that amendment. The section relating to free speech is actually limited to 10 words, “Congress shall make no law . . . abridging the freedom of speech.”
As with most rights, free speech has limitations and those limits go far beyond the old example of yelling “Fire!” in a crowded theater when there is no fire, a very reasonable restriction.

There is an old joke that starts by asking you, “Have you stopped beating your wife yet?” Whether you answer yes or no it sounds like you are admitting to being a wife beater. It’s a practical joke based on the use of an implicit premise – that you beat your wife. The technique is used for more than a laugh though.
